ELD Beginner Line Dance Weekend November 2024

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well and keeping warm with the varied weather we’ve been experiencing lately.  First and foremost, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who travelled to Bournemouth with us this November, for the Beginners’ Weekend at the Durley Dean Hotel, hosted by ELD. It was a fantastic weekend filled with fun times, lots of dances, plenty of laughter, and, of course, delicious food. Special thanks to Jamie Barnfield, our instructor for the weekend, who taught us numerous dances, both old and new. Your hard work in keeping us dancing was greatly appreciated! We also enjoyed live music from the fabulous Richard Palmer and the incredible Billy Curtis.  Saturday night’s fancy dress theme was titled “Emergency Services.” We were in need of the services accompanied by two doctors it was quite a sight, with all the blood we were covered in  – check our gallery for the photo’s of the weekend! On Sunday evening, Jo Winson took over from Jamie and kept the dance floor filled playing our requests. Thank you, Jo we had the best time!  I’m already looking forward to our next gathering, so keep an eye out for updates! Now, as … Continued

Summer Update 2024

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all well, it’s been a while so here is a little catch-up of what has been going on. It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through August, but time flies by when you’re having fun. Classes are going well, and I’d like to thank all of our members who have been attending regularly, even during the hot spells, we really appreciate it. With the success at the Coldharbour Festival and other events, including visits to the Oakford Fete, Bampton: several visits to Andrew Hayes Caravan Park, Dalwood: RNB Chivenor Military Base in Barnstaple, and The Smart Estate Agents Summer Party, Exeter to name a few, it’s been a busy time! All the dances recently taught have now been added to the dances pages. Mr. taught a few beginner dances, and I must say he is coming on a treat 👍 just a few tweaks, and you never know we may see him on tour with the big boys!! 😂 If you would like to join us for Line dancing, whether you have danced before or would like to give it a go, come along you would be most welcome. It is great fun and … Continued

Coldharbour Solstice Sessions

Hello everyone, I wanted to express what a fantastic day we had at the Coldharbour Farm Shop Summer Solstice Festival on Saturday, 22nd June. The weather was amazing, and we enjoyed pizza, shortbread, and coffee for dinner and tea, with a few shandies in between. Mr. was in his element plane spotting as the views were fantastic and we were under a flight path into Exeter Airport. The day kicked off with a marvellous choir performance, followed by various fantastic acts that continued until 11 pm. Our session was so popular that the stretch tent filled up, and I even found myself teaching dance outside as there was no room inside. Chris and I would like to thank everyone for their generous hospitality and for joining in with us. Despite the challenges of dancing on grass, we received many lovely comments. One of the best remarks we received was “I’ve never had so much fun in a long time, you two nailed it!” To that young man: thank you! We are grateful to Coldharbour for inviting us and for all their hard work in keeping us watered and fed. A special thanks to Dave, the sound engineer, for ensuring that … Continued

Christmas Social December 2023

Hello Everyone. I would like to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation to all the wonderful people who graced our Christmas Social event on Sunday 10th December. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and happiness throughout the afternoon, as we enjoyed ourselves with lots of dancing. We performed 31 dances of varying levels, ranging from Beginner to Intermediate see the list of the dances done below, everyone had a great time. Check out the pictures in the gallery 😉 One of the major highlights of the event was the excellent spread of ‘Bring and Share’ food that was put on display. It was a great opportunity for everyone to indulge in their favourite dishes and try new ones. Additionally, the half-time quiz was well-received by all, and it added to the fun-filled atmosphere. The quiz comprised mostly of Christmas questions and Dingbats, and Chris did an excellent job of putting it together. He loves his quizzes that come with lots of banter, it was a close finish with only one point between the top prize of sweets and biscuits.
