Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all well and keeping warm with the varied weather we’ve been experiencing lately.
First and foremost, I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who travelled to Bournemouth with us this November, for the Beginners’ Weekend at the Durley Dean Hotel, hosted by ELD. It was a fantastic weekend filled with fun times, lots of dances, plenty of laughter, and, of course, delicious food.
Special thanks to Jamie Barnfield, our instructor for the weekend, who taught us numerous dances, both old and new. Your hard work in keeping us dancing was greatly appreciated! We also enjoyed live music from the fabulous Richard Palmer and the incredible Billy Curtis.
Saturday night’s fancy dress theme was titled “Emergency Services.” We were in need of the services accompanied by two doctors it was quite a sight, with all the blood we were covered in – check our gallery for the photo’s of the weekend!
On Sunday evening, Jo Winson took over from Jamie and kept the dance floor filled playing our requests. Thank you, Jo we had the best time!
I’m already looking forward to our next gathering, so keep an eye out for updates!
Now, as many of you know, Mr. has nominated me for the UKLDA Line Dance Awards again this year. I’m thrilled to share that I’m nominated for “UK Community Instructor.” Your votes will help me on this journey once again, and I truly appreciate your support. More details can be found through the link that Mr. will provide in January when the voting will be open.
Moving on, this year’s Christmas Social is scheduled for December 8th, from 2 PM to about 5:30 PM. Please check the flyer on the table during class; many of you are already taking pictures with your phones, which is a great idea! Also, details can be found on our website under classes/socials page.
Additionally, I have been cordially invited to teach at a Workshop at Broadmayne Village Hall on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, hosted by Bob and Kaz Francis. Jo Winson will also be teaching, so I encourage you to join us. More details will be available on the table in class; feel free to take a photo, or you can contact me for more information.
Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, I will also be starting a new Beginner & Improver class for the Exmouth Pavilion. Further details can be found here: https://www.exmouthpavilion.co.uk/other-event/line-dancing-with-western-spirit/
Lastly, I’d like to mention that Mr.’s Radio Station is doing well, and he appreciates all of you who tune in. The show will be moving to a new time slot next year, airing every Thursday, starting January 2nd, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. He loves to hear from you, so be sure to listen in!
That’s everything for now. Remember, you can contact me anytime outside of class; you can find my contact details on our website.
Take care, and I look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
Best wishes,
Marina xx
